Petition to Jason Clare MP, Member for Blaxland.
*Our Post Office serves the needs of 41,757 residents; our community is the most diverse in Australia with the largest refugee population and a majority of residents come from non-English speaking backgrounds.
*Our residents have a greater reliance on the public services provided at the Post Office such as help with passport applications, police check, ID check, digital ID and witnessing of documents.
*16.7% of our community are over 60 years of age and depend on the Post Office for paying their utility bills among other public services.
*Our Post Office is well patronized; it provides important public services and should not be held to ransom by the ideology of privatization.
*Australia Post has published the closure of Auburn Post Office on the 28th of August and there is no mention of a new site for our Post Office.
The residents of Auburn call on our Federal Member of Parliament, Jason Clare MP to intervene and force Australia Post to announce the new site for Auburn Post Office.
